We had planned on leaving home "at the break of dawn", eat lunch at and hike around Craters of the Moon National Monument and arrive at the Worldmark Resort in West Yellowstone in time for dinner and swimming.
Things didn't go as planned. Instead, we left about 4pm. But, we did get the lawn fertilized, the corn and potatoes fertilized, the sprinklers fixed (repaired broken lines, moved and reburied a hose), pictures removed from the hall (in preparation for our 2nd Story addition), raspberry sticks moved from the side yard (offering the kids 2 cents per stick -- Sabrina moved 1,000; Roderic moved 374; Hyrum moved 34), lawn edged, and packing finished. And we managed to fit EVERYTHING in the van - even the Jogging Stroller for Leo!
We ate dinner in Carey, ID (population 650), we stopped at an overlook at Craters of the Moon, got to Idaho Falls at dusk and stopped at the Reed's Dairy ice cream shop (yummy!), and got a view of the Idaho Falls Temple. Arrival in West Yellowstone: 11:40 pm.
Before leaving, Ryan asked Roderic to take a picture of Toto that we could show Grandma since Toto got a haircut yesterday. He took 18. We've got a budding photographer with us on this trip.
